About Us
Dr. Flores was exposed to natural medicine from a very early age. In his native Mexico he was raised with herbal tinctures and concoctions that his grandmother prepared for the family when they were sick. He first tried homeopathic remedies as a teen with a remarkable improvement in his physical symptoms. This was a turning point in his life when he decided to learn all he could about homeopathy, and where his journey on this path began. He started to study homeopathy and received his homeopathic degree in 1989, then he went to medical school at Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, where he had a scholarship being part of the basketball team. He received his medical degree in 1993. Following graduation, he spent several years playing professional basketball throughout Mexico playing a double role as a point guard and team physician. Focusing back on medicine again, he pursued a specialty in orthopedics in México City and later worked as an associate professor in the anatomy department.
In 2002, he opened his homeopathic practice in Vancouver. He has been trained in prolotherapy, neural therapy, isopathy, complex homeopathy and more. Given his athletic background and his extensive formal orthopedic training, Dr. Flores has a great deal of experience treating musculoskeletal issues and dealing with professional athletes. As an ex-professional athlete himself, he understands the psyche and demands of high performance sports. Trained in both orthodox and complimentary medicine, Dr. Flores offers a unique blend and understanding of both worlds. Patients benefit from his expertise and experience.
Dr. Flores also enjoys lecturing and has presented at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine on homeopathy. Now he spends most of his time practicing biological medicine in his clinic, Flores Health Services.
In his free time, you can find Dr. Flores shooting basketballs on the court, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his family and planning his next vacation to Mexico!
